Keywords Search Case Study: French Roulette
I have been a full time casino affiliate since 1996. In fact, this Sales Market website is just a tool that I use to explore the current techniques in getting free SEO traffic to that main niche.
Even though I’ve doing this for more than 20 years, there are many new things happening every day. No one person can stay ahead of it. Anyway, my new “brilliant idea” was to create a website based around a single game – French Roulette. My reasoning was thus!
- Roulette is popular around the world
- Everyone is looking for tips on how to play and how to win.
- French Roulette has better player odds then American Roulette and even European Roulette
Sounds like a swell idea, right! My first step was to create post on an existing site of mine that I called “Play Online French Roulette with La Partage : Half-Back Bet : Best Roulette Payouts”
But I wanted to explore my own targeted website! So off the computer I went to do some keyword research.
Domain Name Availability
The best domain name option is a dot com. It is also best if the name clearly indicates the nature of the website. So naturally I go to Name Cheap and search for the term “frenchroulette”. Of course the dot com was taken and was actually a premium name for sale at $50,000 – as if!
Domain name Options: Other less desirable options that were available included frenchroulette.dev frenchroulette.ia frenchroulette.so frenchroulette. .xyz frenchroulette.shop frenchroulette.health frenchroulette.club frenchroulette.biz frenchroulette.us frenchroulette.link frenchroulette.studio frenchroulette.desing frenchroulette.digital frenchroulette.network frenchroulette.live frenchroulette.news frenchroulette.place frenchroulette.life frenchroulette.services frenchroulette.app frenchroulette.page frenchroulette.cc frenchroulette.to and 400 more.
I was intrigued with “frenchroulette.live” because there is a live dealer game for french roulette. For that, I just might give up the advantage of a dot com extension. But more research was in order.
Just in case, I did register “FrenchRouletteLive.com” as a short term marker and possible website flip.
Google Search
As the world best search engine you better go to google to see what people are actually looking for. For the term “french roulette” there were 18,400,00 results – not surprising. Of that total, there were 848,000 video results and 53,400 news results.
This brought up the question “how do I get my site categorized as news”, in order to limit the competition. But that is for another post.
The main thing that I was looking for on google however were the “Searches related to french roulette” located on the bottom of the page.
Related Searches: french roulette vs european, french roulette table, french roulette simulator, french roulette rules, french roulette payout, french roulette online casino, french roulette cake, french roulette wheel layout
Those related search were more easily turned into a domain name as well as primary and secondary keyword search terms. They warrant more google searches on them as well.
